Our primary opportunity is the after-school Good News Club® which impacts the child, the family, the school environment, and the community. The Western Wisconsin chapter, which encompasses seven counties in the Driftless region, has a population of approximately 33,000 children and 124 elementary schools. They not only provide meals to widows and orphans, they are teaching needed skills and nurturing their souls; teaching people to live rightly with Godly principles. In order to continue this ministry, extend their reach across Guatemala and expand their programs, Life Builders International is building a feeding center. - Pray for the teams preparing to travel to Laos in January to do medical teaching, construction work, women’s health training and discipleship training.
- 100,000 nutrition bars have been produced, but now the borders are closed so prayer is needed to find alternation ways to get the nutrition bars into Myanmar to help alleviate malnutrition among the children. Many necessary food items have become scarce with the political turmoil and children are suffering. The nutrition bars are manufactured by ministry partners in Laos and sent to Myanmar. This helps create jobs for Laos people and also benefits the Myanmar children.
- Pray for the educational system in Laos, as many teachers have not been able to be paid for five years and are leaving the teaching profession to find jobs elsewhere. The education system is in very desperate need of teachers, as the children are not able to attend school.
- Praise God for the team that just returned from Laos and the groundwork that was laid for the January teams heading to Laos.
- Praise God for the 9 new believers who came to faith, some of the first in their villages.
- Praise God for the start of construction on the New Hope Training Center where children who have very little “hope” because of high inflation, unemployment and poor training can become vocationally trained and develop skills that they can take to the marketplace or start small businesses themselves.
